About this Plan

Sprint. Radio control sport trainer model, with shoulder wing layout. Wingspan 1214 mm, for 3.5 cc engines.

Quote (google-translated from the German): "As a shoulder-wing aircraft, Sprint combines good looks with aerobatic capability and good-natured flight characteristics. This trainer enables the transition from simple two-channel powered flight to full-house aerobatics.

All flight maneuvers, such as roll, looping forwards and backwards, inverted flight, turn and downswing, can be flown with Sprint without any problems. If the pilot loses control of the model at a sufficient altitude, he only needs to let go of all the sticks until Sprint has leveled off again in the normal flight attitude. This flight stability, deliberately designed into Sprint, makes it difficult to spin the model, which can only be good for the inexperienced.

The Sprint takes hard landings with ease, as the plywood fuselage side walls are made in one piece, which ensures a strength that can hardly be surpassed. The tricycle landing gear with a rigid nose wheel also absorbs strong impacts thanks to its solid attachment and is included in the assembly box. Demanding model pilots can also install a steerable nose gear. The installation is shown as a variant in the construction plan.

The assembly box contains all the material required for construction, such as punched and sawn wooden parts for the fuselage, including engine mount, drawn canopy. In addition, there are stamped ribs, spars, strips and planking material as well as the pre-cut stabilizers, the main and nose landing gear and all RC installation accessories such as Bowden cables, threaded bushings, clevises, hinges and two sets of screwable wing fasteners and one set of adjustable ones. Aileron linkages included in assembly box. Also 1:1 construction plan with RC installation details, construction instructions with construction step photos, exploded drawing and a set of decals.

The Robbe Sprint TF version (ref 3200) contains obeche-planked styrofoam wings."

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
