The wingspan of this one is not clear. Thanks to Pete Brecker for checking this. I am assuming the scaling is correct, but the way the wing is drawn is - to me - not clear. The title block states wingspan is 28, length is 20-1/2. The fuselage length measures correctly, give or take 1/2 in, but the wing seems to measure 24 in, with all 3 sections together. If anyone can make sense of this, that would be good :)

Wing seems to be made of 3 sections, but probably are 4. Assuming section CC is the centerline, try to add the fourth section BB to AA. I didn't made the calculation. Let me know. Pit

sorry BB is the centerline not CC section

Have added some box art pics now, from an online listing, thanks to Pit. The wing is certainly in 3 sections. I'm not sure how to make it add up to 28 in though. If the outer sections are 7-1/2 inch each, then the centre flat section is too short, and would need I think 3 more extra rib bays to make it up to, say, 13-1/2 in.

that's what I intended, my fourth section was the lacking space of the flat central section. But it proved not to be. If you count the undercambered ribs on printwood they're 15 as in the plan. 9 flat bottomed for tailplane.

It looks like this one simply is 24 in, not 28. Despite what the kit box and the plan title block actually say. How very strange.

Tony Italiano (Italian origin if not clear...) and his Brother Victor started a their own Model Supply Company because unsatisfied of the bad quality of 30's kits. For this reason called their company "Supreme", but the brothers in 1943 were called for the WW2. Probably in this year they sold their company to Steve Patti (Italian origin too) that added his name to old kit line. Little Chief old box shows simply Supreme, new kit line was renamed Steve Patti Co. Supreme. Probably in rearranging boxes style and label of plans an error occurred and remained. Or the error was made at the time of Italiano company ownership.

Scans of the printwood can be found in the vintage thread on RC Groups. I think the rib shapes might be a little better than is shown on the plan.

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
