About this Plan

So Slo 2. Radio control sport flying-wing model. Pusher layout. Wingspan 33-1/2 in, wing area 280 sq in. For electric with DC 1717 geared motor.

Planfile includes full build instructions and flying notes.

Quote: "1. Cut out the ribs and trim the angles for W2b the TE and LE. Trim and fit the notches for the spar and stringer to the right angle. This can be done as you build.

2. Rough-cut the balsa sticks to length.

3. Build the plane upside down. Fit and place the spars on the plan. Glue the W5 rib to the spar with a 1/8 block under the TE end. Glue W2a rib to the spar with a 5/8 block under the TE end.

4. Glue the 1/8 x 1/8 balsa TE to W5 and W2a with the blocks in place. Cover the block with plastic.

5. Glue W4 and W3 ribs to the spar and TE.

6. Cut the B1 (1/8 x 3/8) beam to fit. Glue in place.

7. Glue in the W1 ribs to the spar and beam. Remember to cut the hole for the servo plugs.

8. Fit and glue on the 1/4 x 1/4 balsa LE.

9. Turn the plane over, lay flat with a 1/8 block under W5 at the TE to maintain the built in washout.

10. Fit and glue the 1/8 x 1/8 balsa stringer in place.

11. Install the four 1/16" balsa gussets to the TE.

12. Trim off the excess balsa at W2a and W5 and sand.

13. Use a block plane or sanding block to flatten the bottom of the LEto fit the ribs..."

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen.
