About this Plan

Chip. Radio control sport trainer model. Wingspan 1000 mm. For Enya .09 III RC engine.

Quote (google translated from the German): "General: With the Robbe Chip you have a pretty, small RC powered flight model that you will have a lot of fun with both building and flying. The structure of the model is deliberately kept simple.

The flight characteristics of the robbe-Chip can be described as very good-natured. The model will be launched mostly by hand. However, ground launch is possible if there is sufficient space.

For the rest, proceed strictly according to the construction plan and building description, which you should read through several times before you start with the actual construction. Since all parts are prefabricated, assembly is very quick.

It is important to find out about the installation options for the RC system used before starting construction. If a Robbe-Digital other than the one we recommend is to be used, the RC installation scheme in the construction plan also applies, but the dimensions may no longer be correct, so that minor deviations can be compensated for by yourself have to.

General information for the construction process: The numbering of the individual components essentially corresponds to the sequence of the construction process described in the instructions.

Before starting construction, please read the entire assembly instructions carefully. In connection with the parts and materials list and the construction plan, get a precise overview of the type and purpose of the various components and of the construction process itself before you start working.

The construction plans for the fuselage, rudder and elevator as well as the wing with their side and top views as well as cross sections should be used for assembly. In order to protect the plans from damage caused by glue, a liner made of thin, transparent polyethylene film should be used. If this is not available as a larger section, already separated packaging bags are sufficient.

There is a photo sheet in the middle of this brochure. With the individual illustrations we give you further, visual information about the current status of the installation. The photos are numbered. In the course of the text of the building description you will find references to the various photos. Cut this photo sheet out of the folder and place it next to the building plan and building instructions. This saves you having to constantly turn the pages.

The construction plan enclosed with the assembly box is drawn on a scale of 1:1 and is used for the fuselage. Wing and tail used as construction base. The numbering of the components corresponds to the order in which they are assembled..."

Update 15/8/2022: Added zipfile of decal in SVG format, thanks to pikpak.

Quote: "Hello Mary and Steve, I snipped the decor of the Chip (oz13931) from the cardboard and now finally (= because of current demand) vectorised it. You can see it on the right wing of the catalogue picture [main pic] and on my attached picture of the scuffed box [pic 004].
The lettering "robbe" is Futura black from e.g. www.ffonts.net
Remarkable is the use of the Enya 09 II or III with the exhaust to the left. The Enya 09 IV and V had it to the right again. I've not yet found a picture of the Enya 09 pre-II."

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
