About this Plan

ABC Robin. Radio control scale model for electric power. Wingspan 25.3 in. Scale is 1/12.

Quote: "At one inch to the foot scale the model has a span of only 25.3 inches. About the smallest R/C model I have built. It has a 10 gram outrunner with a 6A ESC and micro servos and receiver.

Construction is virtually all balsa, the only plywood being the 1/16 thick motor firewall. Fuselage framing is 3/32 square with 1/16 x 3/32 diagonals. The two main formers are from two laminations of 1/16th with the laminations overlapping in the corners. Fin, rudder, tailplane and elevators are all 1/16th thick. Fin and rudder outline as well as the elevator outlines are laminated from 1/16 x 1/32. Elevators are joined by a piece of toothpick.

Wings are straightforward with hard balsa main spars. A piece of bamboo skewer through the fuselage and the first bay of the wings locks in the dihedral and two small pegs (from toothpicks) lock in the angle of incidence..."

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
