About this Plan

Frog Meteor. Free flight sport rubber model.

Note this is not the plan from the original Frog Meteor kit. Indeed, there probably never was a plan, as the Frog kits were sold ARF, with simple instructions. This here is a later drawing from the 1980s showing how to replicate the model.

Direct submission to Outerzone.

Quote: "Hi! I got these plans from David Carpenter in the mid-80's. The all-sheet Meteor is a neat-looking model and a super flyer, especially in silver! The wingspans from the 1935 advert are Tern 15 in, and Meteor 18.5 in. Adrian."

Quote: "The photo [pic 003] shows David Carpenter with his FROG Meteor, at Old Warden in 1984. Sorry, I cut off his head!"

Update 13/09/2021: Added alternate redrawn plan, thanks to Gene.

Quote: "Hi Steve and Mary, I guess I am a sucker for simple rubber powered models. The attached Frog 'Meteor' file is vector exported at 600 dpi. I really do not know how to assemble the wing the way it is shown on the plan, so I am showing an alternate way which is more conventional. I also added a suggested landing gear. Gene"

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
