Coxy (oz13213)
About this Plan
Coxy. Control line stunt model, for .049 engines. Wingspan 495 mm.
As requested on the wanted page.
Quote: "All those wishing to fly aerobatics in control-line do not always have a large circle at their disposal to fly large size stunt models from. With those modelers in mind and at the same time the many owners of an .049 Cox engine 'left-over' from one of the plastic models, Leon Janssens has designed the Coxy. Make no mistake about it, the Coxy is fully aerobatic and will demonstrate all of its stunting qualities in a restricted space."

Note this planfile is derived from the raw scans posted by user jef on the modelbouwforum.nl forum (see datafile). Here they have been aligned, stitched onto a single sheet, and cleaned up to remove paper creases, tears, glue marks, etc.
Note main model pic and spec sheet [pic 003] are taken from the 1973 Svenson catalogue, see Mary's page at https://rclibrary.co.uk/title_details.asp?ID=1045
Corrections?
Did we get something wrong with these details about this plan (especially the datafile)?
That happens sometimes. You can help us fix it.

There must be a 2nd page, where are the formers? I really like this one, such a shame. How - 28/11/2021
It's a kit plan. There is no 2nd sheet. Because all the parts arrived in the box, you needed no drawing of the parts. We have tagged this plan as 'kit' and 'formers unchecked'. But the design is very simple. Slab sides. Constant chord wing. Triangular section turtledeck. Should be quick and easy to draw up the parts you need, no?

Also, see the Dutch build thread by Jef with some great pics showing the parts and assembly here: https://www.modelbouwforum.nl/thre...

The Coxy looks like a very close copy of the Mini Zilch from 1949 designed by Jim Saftig that was sold by Berkeley models. SIG Manufacturing has a laser cut kit of it. The differences are the shape of the canopy, position of landing gear and the rounded leading edge of the wing. See: https://sigmfg.com/collections/control-line-kits/products/sig-berkeley-mini-zilch

Hi Steve & Mary, Some pictures of my 2 Coxy's that I built as well as a early Coxy kit and mine 1.5x enlarged Coxy [mainpic, 005-008].

Well, how are you, first time I failed building a model, I was left out of alignment, therefore I am going to build the fuselage again, when you download the plan. Make sure it is at the wing length that it says, otherwise the fusel will fit smaller greetings

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
