About this Plan

Minimoa. Free flight scale model glider.

The Keil Kraft Minimoa kit dates back to 1946. For the KK plan and printwood (the closest we have to original), see Minimoa (oz1033) which is a planfile put together by Planeman in 2011. There were some issues with that drawing and the formers, the ribs.

This here is a modern CAD-redrawn plan by Gene Rock in 2021, in an attempt to solve those issues with the fit of the parts.

Direct submission to Outerzone.

Quote: "This drawing was generated from Planeman's efforts to restore this attractive glider and is not exactly like the original. The formers are rescaled from Planeman's efforts using the side view of the keel. The width then adjusted to generate a smooth (top) view. This was all done using conics. I cannot remember how I generated the wing ribs but should be a smooth transition even at the dihedral joint 3D (solids) for the entire model to check and rectify any out of bounds."

Did we get something wrong with these details about this plan (especially the datafile)? That happens sometimes. You can help us fix it.

    ScaleType: This (oz13209) is a scale plan. Where possible we link scale plans to Wikipedia, using a text string called ScaleType.

    If we got this right, you now have a couple of direct links (above) to 1. see the Wikipedia page, and 2. search Oz for more plans of this type. If we didn't, then see below.

    ScaleType is formed from the last part of the Wikipedia page address, which here isöppingen_Gö_3
    Wikipedia page addresses may well change over time.
    For more obscure types, there currently will be no Wiki page found. We tag these cases as ScaleType = NotFound. These will change over time.

Great work Gene. Is there a DXF file of this available? Thanks

Sadly, I hear Gene is no longer with us. All we have here for the Minimoa is this pdf file. There is no dxf file.

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
