About this Plan

Montgomery Bambino. Lightweight CL stunt model.

Note this is a modern redrawn plan.

Direct submission to Outerzone.

Quote: "Hello, I have sourced a few plans from Outerzone and as I appreciate having the site available, would like to add a plan to your list. I did a CAD trace and correction for this 1950ish vintage Australian Lightweight Stunt CL model for 1.5cc for a fellow who had a poor jpg of the plan and wanted to build one.

I believe Montgomery Models was a Melbourne based company but do not know how long they lasted or how many models were designed.

Bambino is a relatively simple model and although I have made a few alterations, it is very close to the original design. Thanks again for establishing and maintaining the site. Regards, John Haren"

Did we get something wrong with these details about this plan (especially the datafile)? That happens sometimes. You can help us fix it.

The engine mount is described as 9mm ply but the fuselage as only 4.5mm. I think the fuselage needs to be the same 9mm width as the engine mount. Supporting this is the "plan view" shows the fuselage 3 times as wide as the 3mm thick fin and rudder.

Yes, I think you're right. The width of the fuse is certainly 9mm, on the plan view.

It's a little hard to say exactly from the plan, and it's not described as such, but if the fuselage was made from a sandwich of two 4.5mm pieces then the overall width would be 9mm.

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
