About this Plan
Sly-Cat. Radio control sport model. Wingspan 1500 mm.
Quote: "A truly outstanding multi-trainer, SVENSON's 'SLY-CAT II' features a shoulder-wing with semi-symmetrical airfoil, a tricycle landing-gear, and should be powered by any good engine between .29 and .40. R/C equipment should be four-channel proportional (or 8 to 10 channel reeds). The SLY-CAT II is the ideal airplane to learn to fly with ailerons, and makes a perfect Sunday-flyer. The Deluxe kit contains full-size plans, multi-lingual instructions, large unbreakable BLUE-tinted canopy, steerable nose-gear, main landing gear WITH wheel collars, three Du-Bro-type air-wheels, rubber wing-supports, R/C clunk tank, all necessary control-horns, nylon-hinges, engine mounting nuts and bolts, etc."

The "Sly-Cat" is the original version of the "Pinto". Pinto was from 1976. A somewhat more modern version of the Sly Cat. Pinto was a huge success, and was also a very good trainer. Here the link to the Pinto http://users.skynet.be/fa046192/I fly 1973 RC models, but never saw a Sly Cat fly. Kind regards,

Hi Steve and Mary, Here some pictures of my last building project from plan, the Sly-Cat [main pic, 004-009]. Wing is build up in foam core. I used the body from a broken Merco 35 as dummy motor, above the electric setup.
Finished in green and orange like the plane was presented in the Svenson catalogue from the 70 ies, but now with modern Oracover.
Plane fly great in all aerobatic manouevres.
Best regards,

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
