About this Plan

Executive. Radio control sport model for .049 - .15 engines.

Note this kit used a ready-formed foam wing.

Planfile includes build instructions.

Quote: "The EXECUTIVE has been designed as a beginner's R/C model that is simple to construct and yet rugged enough to stand up to those inevitable 'heavy landings'! It will accept engines of 0.049 to 0.15 cu in and any of the modern miniature proportional radio outfits, being ideally suited to the 0.10 engine shown and 2-channel radio. Recommended controls are rudder and elevator, although the more traditional rudder/throttle set-up is also detailed.

Follow the assembly sequence carefully, paying special attention to the recommended adhesive for each joint. Finish the EXECUTIVE in the colours of your choice, using either the conventional dope-and-tissue method or one of the new heat-shrink covering films. Be sure to fuel-proof the engine and tank compartments thoroughly.

Install your radio gear in accordance with the manufacturers' instructions, ensuring that the model balances on, or very slightly ahead of the point shown (balance model with gear installed but tank empty). For a comprehensive reference on all aspects of installation and flying, we recommend the 'Radio Modeller Propo Book'.

If you are fortunate enough to have an experienced flier with you when you take out your EXECUTIVE for the first time, ask him to make the first flight for you and then to be on hand until you get the knack of flying the model by yourself. Most model shops will help put you in contact with your local club where you can benefit a great deal from other modellers advice.

One final word on flying your first R/C model: the most important parts of every flight are taking-off and landing; practise these before you attempt anything more complicated!"

I guess this is exactly the Larry Rojair IMP trainer kit from 1976!

Not exactly: the IMP had a flat bottom. I am looking for years to find the buildingplan: mine plan was used by many others from my club and is was destroyed by glue and knives. I do hope someone can help me. Kind regards,

I found the buildingplan IMP by Dave Milbourn, I redraw the original.

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
