About this Plan
Bird of Time Mk4. Radio control powered glider. Wingspan 2900 mm.
The original Dave Thornburg Bird of Time (oz2093) first appeared in RCM, January 1979. This here is a later version modified for electric power.
Quote: "In the Italian magazine Modellismo website, in the free download section (URL below), I found these drawings with structural modifications to the Bird of Time, as well as an e-motor solution for 3s-2200. I would like to give proper credit but the drawings are not signed, I imagine they came together with an article and this bore signature. I'm sure someone else will find the article in less time than it takes to type this!

The rib sizes do not match the rib size on the trunk. Which is 253mm.

Looking at this, I think fules is correct, there is a problem with this plan. Sheets 1 and 4 both show the wing centre-section as 253 mm chord. But the ribs shown on sheet 2 are too small (at 192 mm) to fit. Can anyone out there with CAD skills fix this? Sheet 2 needs scaling up to fit. Thanks.

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
