Quote: "This plane is an all purpose flying endurance model. It is extremely easy to build in spite of the strong, streamlined construction. Although designed primarily for indoor flying, this model will make excellent flights outdoors in calm weather.
Read the instructions carefully, following each step on the plan.
Fuselage: The fuselage sides and formers are cut from the printed sheets. Cement one side to former A in the rear section of the fuselage, using pins to hold it in place. Former B is inserted in the same manner. The other side of the fuselage may now be put in place, using the proceeding method. Before they are dry, cement the seams and line up the rear of the fuselage. The front of the fuselage is made in a similar manner using the turned nose as a former. The rear plug is cut to fit and carved from a soft balsa block.
Wing: The wing is made in two halves. Put the leading and trailing edges in place and trim to size. Cut the wing tips and ribs from the printed sheet and cement than in place. When wing is dry, raise the tips from the plan to the correct dihedral and cement gussets in place. The wing is covered with tissue on the top side only.
Tail: The rudder and stabilizer are cut from the printed sheet and sanded lightly. The rear of the fuselage is slotted and the sides spread apart, thus providing a firm seat for the stabiliser. (See Plan)
Landing Gear: The landing gear .024 wire is bent to fit the fuselage. After the wheels are in place, the ends of the axles are bent up.
Assembling: The wing mount is cut from 1/8 sheet balsa. The bottom is cut to fit the fuselage while the top is traced from the plan. Be sure to have the same incidence in the plane as is shown on the plans.
Propeller: The propeller blades are shaped to the template on the plan and sanded thin. Be sure to put the hard wood thrust bearing and washers on the prop. shaft before cementing in the propeller.
Flying: Before flying the model, hold it by the wing tips and balance. It should balance perfectly level. If it does not, add weights to the nose or tail until it does. Examine the model carefully and straight-en all warped surfaces.
Before flying the model, glide it several times until a long, flat, level glide is attained. After everything is perfect, power flights may be taken. Start first with a few winds and gradually add more on each flight. Do not try to put more than 200 winds in the rubber bands, or they will break and perhaps damage the fuselage.
If the model is carefully built and flown, it will make many thrilling flights for the builder, indoors as well as outside."

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
