DH Mosquito FB MkVI (oz12488)
About this Plan
DH Mosquito FB MkVI. Radio control scale model. For electric power with 500/600 geared motors.
Scale is 1/9.
Note the primary drawing here is the CAD zip download. That's the file that Dave Philpotts produced, and that is his design, his work. The PDF file we have here (with thanks to Miguel) has been exported from that primary file. It is a secondary option, for non-CAD users.
Direct submission to Outerzone.
Quote: "Hi OuterZone, I came across your site when I was investigating what plans were available on the net by an old friend of mine, Dave Philpotts.
Sadly, I have lost touch with Dave over the years but I was with him on the maiden flight of the 1/9th scale Spitfire Mk IX (oz12210) which to be honest, didn't go too well... poor tail authority and wrong C-of-G put it into a nearby tree but luckily there wasn't too much damage! The main reason for contacting you is that Dave gave me CAD files for several of his models including the second in the series of 1/9th Merlin powered WW2 aircraft - a Mosquito F.B.MkIV at 72 in span. This is once again a greatly detailed design which was near completion last time I saw Dave. This was eventually put on hold when he decided to design and build a Gauge-1 live steam locomotive which is when I lost touch after moving away.
I feel it would be very important to get the rest of these designs archived for posterity and to know that the many hundreds of hours of work he put in to these drawings aren't wasted - I'm sure many might be inspired by this work...
Kind regards,"

ScaleType: This (oz12488) is a scale plan. Where possible we link scale plans to Wikipedia, using a text string called ScaleType.
If we got this right, you now have a couple of direct links (above) to 1. see the Wikipedia page, and 2. search Oz for more plans of this type. If we didn't, then see below.
Notes:
ScaleType is formed from the last part of the Wikipedia page address, which here is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Havilland_Mosquito
Wikipedia page addresses may well change over time.
For more obscure types, there currently will be no Wiki page found. We tag these cases as ScaleType = NotFound. These will change over time.

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
