Blue Devil (oz12231) 1976 - plan thumbnail

About this Plan

Marutaka Blue Devil. Radio control sport pattern model. Wingspan 1400 mm. For 29 - 40 engines.

Quote: "The Blue Devil is a compact design for .30 to .40 engine size and more or less ideal for pattern training. An all Balsawood construction with a few plywood reinforcements results in an extraordinary low flying mass, which is essential for the excellent flying capabilities at all three axis. With a .40 size engine, it will easy start also from grass fields."

Quote: "Hello Mary, Steve, how are you? Hoping, things going better in UK now. As mentioned before, here is the plan for the model I built in 1976. I've also a new kit for this plane and was able to make copies of the formers. Unfortunately, the instructions are in German only. In Germany the Blue Devil was distributed by SIMPROP (in Japan it was named 'New blue craft').
All the best for you, Harald"

Hi, I am so happy to see the plan of the Blue Devil. My father in law gave my this plane last year, but the plan was lost. He built it in 1975-76 . I restored it to the original condition [main pic, 006-008]. Setup is electric. It's a great flying airplane. Eyecatcher on the field. Good flights, best regards,

It looks like an updated Doug Spreng Stormer (oz5794).

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
