About this Plan

Hussard. Radio control sport model. Wingspan 1800 mm.

Direct submission to Outerzone.

Quote: "Hello Outerzone, Please find the plan of the Hussard, drawn by Robert Lestourneau around 1968. This model was presented in 'news' in the review Radiomodélisme of March 1968. Robert Lestourneau had created his kit manufacturing company, Airalma, which was then taken over by Précisia. The former boss of Précisia (Roger Lauron - 94 years old) has agreed that the plan will be entrusted to Outerzone : Le Docile & l'Espadon. The Hussard was an aerobatic plane, very inspired by the design of fighter planes from 1939. Wingspan: 1800 mm, Weight: 3000 g. Best Regards,"

Hi Outerzone! I am currently working on vintage subjects and I have been given photos showing a Hussard, a digital plan that I sent you a few months ago. The orange Hussard [main pic, 005] was photographed in 1967 in Ajaccio during the world championship of remote controlled aerobatic aircraft (won by Phil Kraft) and the second photo [pic 003] shows a Hussard, observed by Michel Legrand, the famous composer and musician, who was a model aircraft player. We hope you will like these photos.

Hello, In addition to the comment of Thierry Bordier, find below the link to the magazine (Radio Modelisme Mars 1968):

This one was a kit, and as such, the ribs and formers are not shown in the plan. The link to the Radiomodelisme magazine is for an product ad on page 33; its not that there was a construction article on it. So maybe it would be more precise to tag it as a "kit", change the datafile to show it as "From: Airalma or Precisia (not the magazine), and finally mark it as "formers incomplete"

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
