Super Suppi (oz11735)
About this Plan
Super Suppi. CL trainer model.
Quote: "Hi, Super Suppi a control line stunt trainer. This is a plan from Paul Tupker. He is a Dutch designer and he created this stunt trainer in 1968. He was a master in designing good looking, simple to built planes and they all flew very well. You already have the Suppi (oz8977). This plan is his big brother. I got this thanks to Winfried from the Dutch modelbouwforum.
Specs:
Span 1040 mm, 41 in
Length 740 mm, 29 in
Motor from 3,5 to 6 cc, .21 to .35
All text is in Dutch but the plan explains itself, and balsa is also balsa in Dutch. I am happy this plan will be saved at your great website. Regards,"
Direct submission to Outerzone.
Note there is some minor distortion (slippage) just at the left hand edge of this scan. Suggest builders use caution, do some very careful measurement before using this plan to build upon.

Hello, I'm sending two pictures of my Super Suppi, built in winter 1970/71 [model photo & more pics 003].Because of winning the national title in Beginners Aerobatics in 1970 my 'career' suddenly accelerated. I won that contest with a Mini-Suppi (standard Suppi's little brother) fitted with a Webra record 1.5 cc diesel. Consequence however was that if I wanted to compete, I had to fly with the 'big boys' in full F2B the next year.
My stunt mentor, Paul Tupker, therefore suggested I'd get myself a Fox .35 and build a Super Suppi. At the time, Paul was flying a Fox 35 powered Palmer Thunderbird, it's easy to see where I got the outfit of my Super Suppi.
The Super Suppi turned out to be my stepping stone into F2B, it taught me flying the entire schedule. From there the Fox was relocated into a Nobler and in 1978 I could join Paul (& Peter van Doesburg) in the Dutch team at the World Championships in the UK [more pics 004-009]. Sadly, we lost Paul in 2009.
Just over 40 years later ;) [more pics 010].

What does "Suppi" mean?
Michael Reed - 23/11/2019
Paul was active in a SUB commission of a greater aviation organisation. He used the word SUB as SUPPI.

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
