Fun Scale Spitfire (oz11623)
About this Plan
Dynaflite Giant Fun Scale Spitfire. Radio control scale model WWII fighter. Wingspan 81 in. Wing area 1150 sq in, for 120 4-cycle, or 90 2-cycle engines.
Discontinued kit from Dynaflite.
Quote: "Dynaflite's GIANT fun scale Spitfire was designed to provide the modeller with a giant scale IMMA legal Spitfire, that is no more difficult to build and fly than a sport model. The all wood construction reduces the weight, keeps assembly simple, and allows the model to be film covered without the need to paint plastic parts. When completed the Spitfire weighs approximately 10-1/2 lbs (with retracts) which puts the wing loading at 21 oz/sq ft, so landings are slow just like a sport model."
Quote: "Here are the plans for the Dynaflite 81 inch Giant scale Spitfire. I have also included the formers that I traced from the actual parts."

User commentsFor anyone planning on building the 81” Dynaflite Sport Spitfire, I have canopies available. I built one 10+ years ago. It was my most enjoyed warbird to fly.

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
