Erk. Single channel radio control sport model.

THE Erk fills a gap in our present range of RC designs, for it is specifically intended as a tough, though light, single-channel small field flyer, for the smaller engines and RC units. Its control response is docile but it is by no means boring to fly. Erk, like its namesake, takes lots of punishment and comes back for more. Best of all, it is easy to trim and, although Johnny Bowmer did not set out to produce a beginner's special', his design is fully within the constructional capabilities of even a comparative novice.

The original model used a pulsed actuator (Septalette) with a pushrod to the rudder, but the fuselage is big enough to accept a wide range of standard single channel gear.

With the really small receivers and standard actuators, a little weight may be required in the nose and you may like to incorporate this in a beefed-up structure or alternatively you could use larger batteries.

Build Erk now and be ready for the start of the 1963 flying season, after all, its only a couple of months away!"
