Folly II (oz11404)
About this Plan
Folly II. Free flight power model, for Super Cyclone engine.
Quote: "Drawn especially for John Pond."
Scan from DBHL, cleanup by theshadow.
Direct submission to Outerzone.
Note the model pic is taken from 'Gas Lines' article in MAN, July 1940. Quote: "Ship by Rod Doyle, the 1936 California State Champion... this plane took second place in the 1937 State Fair, senior event. An unusually fine design with high thrust line, large center of lateral area, and a beautiful high wing. We are indebted for this picture to Mr Pete Bowers."
Note the Folly II was later redrawn (at reduced size) in Model Builder Dec 1981 by Al Pattersen see Folly II (oz4473).
Did we get something wrong with these details about this plan (especially the datafile)?
That happens sometimes. You can help us fix it.

User commentsFrequently declared from 1937 Model Aeronautics Yearbook of Frank Zaic publication but it's an error. In this volume there is plan and article of Rod Doyle Folly, a 6ft first version little bit different . Sadly Rod died in WW2.

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
