About this Plan
Humbrol Sirocco. Towline glider with all-sheet Jedelsky wing. Wingspan 1470 mm.
Quote: "A 1470mm span Jedelsky glider. This kit contains all the parts required for completion, with the exception of dope, including pre-cut Jedelsky sections. Suitable for radio control."
Quote: "Firefly and Sirocco. Hi, here are two more plans for the Outerzone with photos... The Sirocco is an exciting 70s kit glider, the Jedelsky wing was quite trendy in kits at the time. Just looking at it makes me want to build it and have some fun with this... Regards,"

Did we get something wrong with these details about this plan (especially the datafile)?
That happens sometimes. You can help us fix it.

User commentsI built a Sirocco back in the mid 1980s, converted it to RC with a full flying elevator, rudder and slightly wider nose section to accommodate the 4 cell flight pack, the rest was as per the plans. Fantastic flyer on the slope. One day, I was flying with an Osprey in the lift, he was 4 times the size of the Sirocco and never took notice of the models in the air with him, depth of perception can be an issue sometimes, I was, what looked like about 10 metres to his left at the angle I was viewing, when I was actually 10 metres below him, I peeled off to the left and as I raised the nose for the turn, the Sirocco hit the Osprey square in the chest, he folded his wings and dived off to the north as the Sirocco tumbled a little and then continued to fly with the wings a little skewed. The Osprey was back the next weekend but would not come close to the models anymore. We still fly a lot with the eagles mainly during glider competitions today as many as 5 in the same thermals as the gliders, we do our best to stay clear of them.

* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
