About this Plan

Linnet. Free flight rubber model from Frog senior series.

Quote: "Introduction: This model is one of the Frog Senior-Series, which consists of a range of models of near-scale design and appearance, representing popular full-size sports planes, all approximately 18 in span.

They embody very simple and quick constructional methods, as in the Frog junior Series models, all the main parts being ready-cut to shape, and only require cementing together.

To ensure a satisfactory job, study the plan and check the parts with it before commencing. Assemble the model step by step as shown.

Cement and dope are not included in this kit, but they can be bought at any model shop. Use quids-drying balsa cement such as Frog Universal. You will also need a balsa-cutting knife or a razor blade, and a few pins.

When you have built this model, remember there are others in this series equally attractive."

Planfile includes full build instructions.

Dear Steve and Mary, Please find attached a few photo’s of my latest, yet another from the Frog Senior Series, this time the Linnet [mainpic and 003,004]. The only deviations from the plan were built up tail surfaces, a little extra 1/16” sheet on the top of the nose, laminated balsa wheels, a pilot, windscreen frame and a carved balsa propeller.
Covering is green Esaki and Sams Superlite in cream and red, sealed with cellulose thinners. All up weight without rubber or ballast is 21.8g or 0.77oz.
Best wishes to you both and thank you as always for the fantastic work you do for aeromodellers everywhere.

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
