What is “PHAROS” a reference to? British club?Mike Hunt - 15/01/2021
Discreet hint in "...and shows Laurie Barr of the Pharos club holding his Thunder King model", and do follow the RCGroups link in the About This Plan column, it's time well spent :-)
Miguel - 15/01/2021
Mike Hunt enquired yesterday about PHAROS. It used to exist pre-WW2 (I believe) and was run by Jim Butterworth and "Ma". In the late 40's he contacted the newly formed Greenford MAC and asked if its 8 or so members would like to reform Pharos----we did and flew models under that name for several years.

Hi my name's Les question does the thunder king glider have weak wing ! Or spares ect.
Ljwbarnett - 15/04/2022
Answering Les Barnett's query of 15/04/22-----Thunderking's wing mainspar was two half inch by one eighth spars arranged as a " T " and thus very strong compared to all balsa. I never had a problem when towline launching even in a stiff breeze.Sorry about the slight delay in replying, Les.-------Peter Gilbert.

Notes
* Credit field
The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.
Scaling
This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
