This is the OLD PAGES section of the Outerzone website.

This is a cut-down version of the main site, with only the most basic pages available. Data shown here is live and current, but the page template is a legacy copy of how the old pages used to be, before the site was upgraded to a responsive Bootstrap V3 template, in June 2015.

These pages are old and unsupported. There are many many bad links and dead ends in this section of the site.

Unless you have some very good reason to be here and to be using these old pages (maybe your browser is IE8), you will most likely be better off and happier if you use the main Outerzone website at www.outerzone.co.uk instead.

Have a nice day, now.

Outerzone is a listing of free vintage and old-timer flying model aircraft plans to download. The listing is free for everyone - you don't need to register or log in to download these plans.

You can view model plans by category tag (like say free flight, control line, radio control, scale, rubber, etc...) using the browse plans pages. There is a simple keyword search on the search page (also above).

For a quick visual fix, you can page through the latest plan thumbnails added or the latest model pics added, at 75 pics per page.

Outerzone was designed to be maintained and updated by volunteers called Site admins who get involved but (perhaps predictably) it hasn't ever really worked out that way. So with the exception of a few good people who have helped out here in the past (see below) at the moment it's essentially just me. See the FAQ page for more details on how this site works, and why.

Outerzone is also (I hope) a secure repository for vintage model aircraft plans that may have historical significance.

First two photos show my original Swamp Box built in 1971 [pics 003,004]. It had a SuperTigre 2.5 cc and O.S. Pixie R/C system for pulse rudder and cyclic three position throttle. It was a fine flyer despite the very unreliable R/C...

Hi Steve and Mary, Hope everything is fine with you and your loved ones! Every now and then I look at the site, at “new” models, and more than once I fall in love with one.
But with a lot to build on the shelve I hardly come around to...

The first photo shows a Live Wire Rebel built from the original kit way back in 1973 [pic 005]. It had an Enya .09 (removed when photo was taken) with proportional R/C for rudder, elevator & throttle. It was a clunky...

Latest 'Lockdown' effort from your plans [mainpic, 005,006]. Very pretty Bostonian. As usual many thanks!
Chris Blanch : Boston Tea Partly : 26/10/2020

Interesting plan. Care though, the canopy (at least) is of odd, not scale shape. Given that basic error, it would be clever to check it all against a 3 view ...before cutting balsa.

Here is a photo of my first ever RC model in 1969. I still have my original hand drawn plans on brown wrapping paper, but had long since forgotten the name or designer. Now I know!!!
In lieu of twin rudders and a monowheel, I made...

Hello Steve - Two photos of my KK Competitor built in 2018 [main pic, 012]. Rubber powered (as intended!) but with R/C assist using a sub-micro Rx/servo module (70 mAh LiPo) on rudder only to steer away from the trees...
