Using WeTransfer for large files

Summary

To send us files that are too large to email, we recommend using the free service from WeTransfer.

Details

For large files, we recommend WeTransfer. We have been using this free service for many years, since around 2013. It has always been fast and reliable. We've never had any problems.

See https://wetransfer.com

You can send up to 2GB in one go. You don't need to log in or to create an account. It's free. It is often more convenient than emailing a large file, or even emailing many small files.

You fill in the form ('add files', 'email to') then hit the 'transfer' button.

This a free service, so it does involve negotiating both cookies and adverts. WeTransfer is a business with a dual revenue model, split between advertising and premium (pro) subscriptions. It displays full-screen advertisements while transferring.

See pics for a quick overview.

You can of course choose to create an account, and to log in. That may be your choice. We are assuming that most users here will simply want a quick and free file-transfer service with no login.
