Plan file details

Mecury Texan - Class A Team Racer for engines up to 2.5cc. The Texan was first released in 1953. The original version showed an ED Racer (thanks Brian). This plan shows an AM 25 engine, which means this here is a slightly later revision, circa 1955. Quote: - "Mercury Texan class A team racer - modern lines and rugged construction are combined in this model which is to specification for SMAE contests under 1953 rules. With printed and pre-shaped Solarbo, plan and instructions. For engines up to 2.5cc" Dear Outerzone, Please find h'with a scan of my Mercury Texan plan as requested by someone on your site. It's 400ppp grey. I have scanned the plan in 4 quarter folds, exactly as Henry J. folded it when he put it in the box; this means there are no overlaps. I also attach scans of the instruction leaflet and a photo of my very old Texan! [more pics 003 & 005] I think I bought it in HJN's shop in about 1972 and I built it in about 1978 in France where I have been living since that time. I have only recently, after having neglected this wonderful hobby for the last 35 years, dug out my collection of kits, planes and motors... Hope this is of interest to you; keep up the good work. Nicholas Tucker, France Here are some new Texan scans; I have done it in 6 vertical pieces complete with creases! Pleased to hear that you will do the cleaning up bit. Perhaps the person who requested the plan can scan the print wood. When I built the Texan I had nothing to record the balsa sheets. Direct submission to Outerzone. Update 22/05/2017: Added printwood scan, thanks to Bernard&Petro Quote: - "A very good morning from Albertinia, South Africa again Steve & Mary, Attached 2 pdf files with scans of the wood that I have for the Texan (Mercury) I hope it helps. Scanned 100%. Kind regards"
