About this Plan

Rainbow Warrior - Radio controlled slope soarer.

Hi Steve, After remembering the Rainbow Worrior while working on the Obelix plan (oz8758), I dug into the old filing cabinet and found a few scraps of wrinkled photocopy paper, and was able to reconstruct these sketches with the GIMP.

Although I flew one I can't recall the history of this design, (if I ever knew it), and I don't recognise the name of the designer/draftsman. The model name, "Rainbow Warrior" and the time period, (late 80s) COULD indicate that it was a down-under version/ripoff of the Obelix by our Kiwi cousins across the pond in NZ. Pure conjecture of course...

Scaling factors:
Fin base line from Aileron T.E. to elev hinge line;
Page 1, 160mm. Page 2, 165mm. (??)
Page 3, core lengths are; 490mm, 290mm, 180mm.

Direct submission to Outerzone.

Corrections?

Did we get something wrong with this plan? That happens sometimes. Help us make a correction

Notes

* Credit field

The Credit field in the Outerzone database is designed to recognise and credit the hard work done in scanning and digitally cleaning these vintage and old timer model aircraft plans to get them into a usable format. Currently, it is also used to credit people simply for uploading the plan to a forum on the internet. Which is not quite the same thing. This will change soon. Probably.

Scaling

This model plan (like all plans on Outerzone) is supposedly scaled correctly and supposedly will print out nicely at the right size. But that doesn't always happen. If you are about to start building a model plane using this free plan, you are strongly advised to check the scaling very, very carefully before cutting any balsa wood.
