Sopwith 1-1/2 Strutter - Free flight scale model WWI biplane for .5cc engines. Wingspan 33-1/2 in. Scale is 1/12. Quote: - "The Sopwith 1-1/2 Strutter is a natural selection for free flight power with its generous tail area and slim fuselage, but surprisingly few models have been seen to date. One exception is Brian Sichi's control line model [see oz1239] in our plans range. Extra details for scale can be gleaned from the 1/72 and 1/48 APS scale drawings ...a pendulum controlled elevator stabilises the model in the event of gust effect and is another safety factor. The prototype used a .5cc DC Dart that provided ample power for all conditions. Top weight should be 14 oz and most modellers ought to come out well below that figure." Note this is a low resolution plan. Direct submission to Outerzone.
